MORE ABOUT YOUR DISHWASHER

If you replacing a dishwasher first shut off the circuit breaker and test to verity that the power is off. Remove the kick plate of the existing dishwasher unit will slide out. Sometimes you will find was installed in front of the dishwasher so that you can't slide out the old or slide in the new without cutting the floor—and most people want their floor damaged. To reduce the height of the dishwasher you can screw its feet by using a small adjustable wrench and pliers. But remember, you must do this to the two back feet as well. To get the lowest height on a new dishwasher, remove all four feet. Sometimes an old dishwasher will slide right out with plumbing and wiring still attached. Other times the plumbing and wiring keep it fastened in place. For these units, you will have to disconnect everything before the unit will slide out remember to remove the electrical power and the cord. The drain line is normally a flexible pipe like the washer once it is disconnected from under the dishwasher. On the site, and you have verified it is the right model, color, etc. Vertical room for a dishwasher is rarely a problem. Kitchen sink, counters are normally installed at a height of approximately 35 in. from the finished floor to the underside of the countertop. A dishwasher needs 34.in. to 35 in., and its legs can adjust up another inch if needed. If your cabinets are extra high, you can install a trim piece over the unit.
Once I have the dishwasher oil site and have verified that it is the right unit, I remove the cabinet door and hardware. Then I mark the cabinet where I want to cut it.
The primary cutting tool is the hacksaw, which cuts everything but the area up against a wall.

Electrical

The dishwasher needs a 20-amp circuit breaker all to itself. Normally,  bring the 12-2 NMB cable up through the floor along the very back wall and make a large loop, then feed it under to the splice box on the dishwasher's front right. The large loop makes it easy to pull out the dishwasher for maintenance or repairs. I do the same with the dishwasher's drain and water lines. The dishwasher's splice box will have a hole for the incoming cable be sure to install an NM clamp first and then take the cable through it. The clamp is to be tightened onto cable only to snug; never super tight. Within the splice box, connect the black wire of the cable to the black wire of the dishwasher. Do the same with the white wires. Connect the cable ground wire to the frame or to the green dishwasher wire.
